Janko Hofmann
Freelance Web Engineer, Software Architect & Consultant
I can help you build accessible products that scale.
I am an experienced generalist in the field of web-based product development with over 10 years of experience in fast-paced product development teams, working for diverse companies including start-ups, agencies and large corporates.
About me
Based in Berlin, Germany I am available for freelance work either on-site or remote.
My work life so far mostly revolved about digitalization in larger German companies, be it as an internal employee (Deutsche Bahn, BMW), while working for digital agencies (Edenspiekermann, IBM iX) and since early 2022 as a freelance expert.
I have a master's degree in Media Informatics with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction.

Work Ethic
My experience in leading various development teams enables me to regularly bring new perspectives to projects and question established thought patterns in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of product delivery.
In 2008 I took my first student job as accessibility tester and since then, I have steadily expanded my knowledge in that field, not only from a developer perspective, but from a holistic multi-disciplinary view. As this is a topic that is particularly close to my heart, I am primarily interested in projects in which accessibility is a concern.
I like to share my knowledge and new insights with my project teams on a regular basis. Some of them I also publish as articles on my blog.
